The P.E.I. government announces measures to support individuals, families, communities and businesses amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 

March 2020 

  • Visitors to all public and private long-term care and community care facilities restricted, among other provincial measures announced. Read more
  • Initial $25 million Emergency Contingency Fund announced, public health emergency declared. Read more 
  • Funding announced to support the province’s most vulnerable, including those experiencing homelessness, food insecurity and more. Read more
  • $27 billion in direct support for people and businesses. Read more
  • Supports for early learning centres, learning opportunities for Island students and financial relief for post-secondary provincial loans. Read more
  • $1 million Temporary Rental Assistance Benefit to assist Island households that are currently renting and have seen an unexpected loss of income due to COVID-19. Read more

April 2020

  • Launch of the COVID-19 Income Support Program, which provides a one-time, taxable payment of $750. Read more

August 2020
